Effective 4 August 2026
Privacy notice
This notice explains how VALX LIMITED handles personal information when people use the ValX customer, detailer, website and support services.
Who controls your information
VALX LIMITED is the data controller. It is registered in England and Wales under company number 17378672. Registered-office information is available on the Companies House register.
Privacy questions can be sent to support@valx.uk.
Information we use
- Account details such as name, email address, telephone number, role and security records.
- Vehicle details, registration numbers, service addresses and water availability.
- Quotes, bookings, journey status, completion evidence, reviews, complaints and support messages.
- For detailers: service area, availability, business, insurance, identity, VAT and payout-onboarding information where enabled.
- Technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device, session, IP, diagnostic and audit data.
- Payment references, refunds and payout status when payments are introduced. ValX will not store full payment-card numbers.
Why we use it
We use personal information to create and secure accounts, calculate prices, arrange and fulfil bookings, match eligible detailers, provide support, prevent misuse, resolve disputes and keep required business records.
Our lawful bases include performing a contract or taking requested pre-contract steps, complying with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in operating and protecting the marketplace. We ask for consent where the law requires it, including for optional marketing or device permissions.
Who receives it
We disclose only the information needed to operate a booking. Customers and assigned detailers receive relevant booking details. Approved providers may process data for hosting, authentication, communications, maps and routing, vehicle lookup, support, fraud prevention and—once enabled—payments.
We may also disclose information where required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
International processing
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, ValX uses an approved transfer mechanism and proportionate contractual and security protections.
Retention
- Account information: while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards where needed for security, disputes or legal obligations.
- Booking and finance records: up to seven years where needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention or legal claims.
- Support and complaint evidence: normally up to 24 months after the matter closes, unless a longer legal hold applies.
- Unsuccessful detailer onboarding documents: normally deleted within 90 days after the final decision, unless retention is required.
Deletion removes or anonymises information ValX no longer needs. Restricted records may remain where the law, fraud prevention or an active dispute requires them.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Requests can be sent to support@valx.uk.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Account deletion and security
Account deletion can be started inside the ValX app when available or through the public deletion page. We use access controls, encryption, logging, minimisation and secure development practices appropriate to the service. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and changes
ValX is not intended for children. Customers and detailers must be able to enter a binding service agreement. We may update this notice as the private beta and provider set change; the effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
